Lost Wax Method

 

The Lost Wax Method of bronze casting is ages old and one of the most interesting processes to create art known.  It consists of thirteen major steps and numerous more intermittent steps depending on the size and complexity of the art work.

 

 

         Step One - Completion of the Original

 

   Step Two - Master Mold

 

      Step Three - Completion of Wax Replica

 

   Step Four - Adding Sprues and Gates

 

   Step Five - Investment or Second Mold

 

   Step Six - Wax Melt & Investment Cure

 

   Step Seven - Bronze Pour

 

   Step Eight - Remove Investment

 

   Step Nine - Investment Clean by Sandblasting

 

   Step Ten - Plasma Torch

 

   Step Eleven - Welding

 

   Step Twelve - Metal Chase and Finishing

 

   Step Thirteen - Patina

 

   Step Thirteen - Base
