This 5x5 bull elk is young - you can tell by how slender he is.  Most smaller bulls, despite the size of their antlers, are termed 'Satellite Bulls' - being that, during the rut, they circulate around the bigger bulls looking for opportunities.  Like this bull, seeing the opportunity and an ability to grab it is an American tradition.
